The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska is putting its members back to work thanks to Indian gaming. The tribe opened its gaming facility in Iowa in January and gave it a new name -- the Blackbird Bend Casino. The facility, which is operating in a temporary structure, employs more than 73 people, about 75 percent of whom are Native American. "It's good to get some of our tribal members back working again," Darwin Turner, a member of the tribe's Gaming Commission, told The Sioux City Journal. The tribe will be breaking ground on a permanent facility this spring and will be doubling the workforce when the casino opens in late 2013 or early 2014. Get the Story:
